BigSur
- In June Hudl Sportscode will no longer support macOS Big Sur (macOS 11). To ensure continued access to the latest features and improvements, we recommend upgrading to the latest macOS version available. If you have any concerns please contact Hudl Support.
What did we improve?
- You can now rewatch instances, when all instances have finished. Either by clicking the play button or pressing the spacebar.

- Trying to login to STS Datahub import with an invalid client ID will no longer lock you out. Instead, you will now be prompted to check your client ID and retry.
- Fixed an issue where the Upload button was inactive whilst a playlist was being uploaded.

What did we fix?

Hudl Sportscode 12.9.0
What did we improve?
- You can now listen to the audio of the angle you’re currently previewing in the capture window. This works for IP feeds on both Apple Silicon and Intel machines. To access this functionality, you can enable it in the Hudl Sportscode settings. It is worth noting that this feature is still in the experimental phase.

- Ending a live streaming session now correctly ends the session, enabling a new live streaming session to be created.
Hudl Sportscode 12.8.0
What did we improve?
- You can now change the name of your Live Streaming Session.

- Matches imported via STS Datahub containing GoalKick events without corresponding Play sub-events can now be imported.

Hudl Sportscode 12.7.0
Live Streaming Sessions
- You can now live stream a capture to other Hudl Sportscode users meaning that your team of analysts can code any game from anywhere.
- The video will be available in your Hudl library once the live stream upload has ended and the video is processed.

What did we improve?
- You can now better manage the timelines within your video package; adding or deleting them as needed. With this change, when launching a video package, the last accessed timeline will be opened. Click here to find out more.
- You can now easily transcode your videos when adding them to your playlists. Simply go to "Insert > video" and customize the transcoding settings according to your preferences. Click here to find out more.
- You can now set sharing permissions on Playlist uploads.
- You can now double click on an item to start a download when using Open From Hudl.
- You can now use SRT IP feeds for single-angle live capture.
What did we fix?
- We have resolved an issue where slides and images added to playlists stored on Fat32 or ExFat formatted hard drives were not being saved upon re-opening. They will now be retained.
- The overflow menu for the timeline toolbar now works as expected.
- Labels and notes are now being downloaded for Playlists via Open From Hudl.
- You will now reliably see a disconnection alert when RTMP or RTP IP feeds are disconnected during capture.
Hudl Sportscode 12.6.2
Changing playlist views
- You can now seamlessly switch between Sorter and Organiser views within the same playlist, combining the functionality of both playlist types for an even more powerful curation experience. Explore this feature further with this video.
Sending clips from output reports to playlists
- You can now send instances directly to a playlist from an action button in your Code Window, meaning it is now much easier to get insights from your reports into your presentations while reducing the time and effort required to curate and organise content. Click here to learn more.
What did we improve?
- You can now customise the highlight colour of instances on your timeline, helping you identify selected instances with ease. Click here to learn more.
- You can now listen to the audio of the currently previewed angle in the capture window for IP feeds. To access this functionality, you can enable it in the Hudl Sportscode settings. It is worth noting that this feature is still in the experimental phase.
- We've updated the following qualifiers when using OPTA Rugby League Import in Hudl Sportscode:
- “Penalty" - This will now display as "Penalty Conceded" to indicate penalty direction.
- "Unknown 40" - This will now display as "Ball Movement".
- Added in new qualifiers to PTB Result; Pass Type, Penalty Group, Substitution Reason, Attacking Action Type, Defensive Action Type and Ball Movement
- The time remaining displayed when uploading playlists is now more accurate.

Hudl Sportscode 12.5.0
Screen Recording
- You can now effortlessly share your presentation using Hudl's latest screen recording tool, accessible directly from the Sorter and Organiser.
What did we improve?
- When loading the Upload Playlist modal for large playlists it no longer feels like Hudl Sportscode becomes unresponsive.
What did we fix?
- Translated texts on the Upload Playlist modal now wrap rather than being clipped.
- Playlists that were failing to upload to hudl.com due to an AWS error now upload correctly.
- Email addresses containing an apostrophe can now be used to login to hudl.com through Hudl Sportscode.
Hudl Sportscode 12.4.27
What did we improve?
- You can now drag and drop external videos directly into your playlists.
- You can now easily switch between timelines within a video package directly from the timeline toolbar.
- When running your Saved Searches in your timeline, any new searches will now be automatically added to the toolbar icon.

Hudl Sportscode 12.4.24
What did we improve?
- Search results in the find window are now updated with changes in the front timeline, front playlist and selected database.
- You can now remove duplicate labels from selected instances in a front timeline or database.
- You can now import Opta data for Rugby League games to your timeline.
- You can now retry uploading a playlist to your Hudl Team Library from the Progress Queue if it fails.
What did we fix?
- You can now upload a playlist to Hudl with a name containing a forward slash.
- The default angle button radio button is now preselected when changing from a multi-angle to single angle playlist on the Upload Playlist to Hudl modal.
Hudl Sportscode 12.4.22
What did we improve?
- Playlists can now be uploaded directly to a team's library on hudl.com without needing to upload it on the website.
- You are now able to utilise the trackpad to interact with videos within Hudl Sportscode. Pinch to zoom in to all video players and utilise a two finger swipe to scrub through footage.
What did we fix?
-When presenting on an external display, videos will now remain synced whilst using playback controls.
-Using Live Share between Sportscode versions is now backwards compatible (except for 12.4.20 and 12.4.21). Previously using Hudl Sportscode version 12.4.19 or below wouldn't allow users to Live Share sessions with version 12.4.20 and above.

Find Window Improvements
- You can now duplicate a saved search making it easier to curate similar searches.
- Advanced find search queries are no longer case sensitive.
- You now have the ability to re-order your saved searches by drag and drop; making it easier to organise your searches.
- An advanced find sub-query now displays the correct results for 'Is Not'.
What did we fix?
- Playlists containing effects on the first frame now display the effect in the correct position when uploaded and viewed in hudl.com.
- Downloading and opening a multi-angle package from a server now correctly opens the package.
- Capture frame rate is now remembered after unplugging and plugging in local capture devices.
Hudl Sportscode 12.4.15
Find Window Improvements
- You can now search across any Playlist as a data source, using 'All Playlists In Folder' or a 'Custom Selection of Playlists'.
- We have made it easier to update Saved Searches, as they will now autosave.
- You do not have to save a search in order to retain it, you can now close the find window and, upon re-opening, the unsaved search will still be there.
- It is now easier for you to save, delete, import and export searches, with a new and updated layout.
Universal Build
- Hudl Sportscode now runs natively on Apple Silicon machines (M1, M2 etc.), this removes the need for Rosetta.
What did we improve?
- You can now edit information in the Sorter without the clip starting from the beginning.
- You can now control the size of the Instance Player through menu item 'View' or using the keyboard shortcut: 'Control' + '>' or '<'.
Hudl Sportscode 12.4.14
What did we improve?
- You now have more time when flagging to add notes to playlist instances - we've introduced an automatic pause before the clip resumes play.
- Rows edited in a sorter now automatically highlight, making it easier to see what you're changing.
- When using the Hudl Remote, the video control buttons now allow you to press and hold.
What did we fix?
- In the Statistical window, the rank and unique rank scripting commands now support decimal places.
- When in a sorter, previous rows are now automatically selected after deleting a row.
- When importing basketball games via Synergy, you will now see the Period field properly populated.

What did we improve?

What did we improve?
- Users can now choose to download Playlists from their Hudl Team Library as either a Sorter or an Organizer.

Hudl Sportscode 12.4.11
macOS Catalina- As of the 12.4.11 release we will no longer be supporting macOS Catalina. 12.4.10 will be the last release supporting this OS. For the best experience, and to make the most of recent HSC improvements, customers should now upgrade their macOS.
What did we improve?
-Users now have the option to de-interlace timeline video when capturing RTP feeds discovered via SDP files provided they are on Apple Silicon.
-You can now download playlists from your Hudl team library as an organizer via 'Open from Hudl'
-When sending from playlists to databases if the clips come from different timelines we respect the ordering in the playlist instead of sorting by timeline .
What did we fix?
-You can now access the instance context menu in a timeline and organizer by pressing ‘Control’ and clicking the instance.
- Fixed an issue when Collaborative Coding with the same Code Window that would result in rows with the same name being duplicated in the timeline.
- The sczip file generated from an Upload to Hudl now uses the correct thumbnail.
Hudl Sportscode 12.4.10
What did we improve?
- Hudl Sportscode will now remember the size and location of your instance player windows on your active screen.
- We've added more editing controls for clips in the timeline. When editing a clip, by releasing the drag bars, the edit bar will refresh.
- You can now launch your Find Window from the main menu bar.
- You can also get to your Find Window with the shortcut 'Command' + 'F'.
- When sending clips from Insight to a Hudl Sportscode timeline, the timeline instances can now be sent on to a Hudl Sportscode Sorter or Organizer, without having to save the timeline first.
What did we fix?
- Saving a playlist via the menu bar would cause Hudl Sportscode to become unresponsive.

Find Window
- You can now easily search for any code, label or note across your timeline, database or a custom selection of folders with the new Advanced Find feature available in the Find Window (CMD+F). For more information check out this blog.
- You can now save your quick and advanced searches within the Find Window (CMD+F); now you will only need to build your queries once. You can also share these searches with other members of your team with our new import/export option.
Heatmaps
- You can now use Heatmaps to visualise location data in HSC, providing more context to game events and identifying trends. This can be achieved without any knowledge of scripting. For more information check out this blog.
- When using Heatmaps you can also tag your own location data and see this update automatically in real time, live or post game.
Statistical Window
- You can now use the statistical window to manipulate data into a standardised format so that it can be copied and pasted into other applications, such as Excel.
What did we improve?
- You can now send instances from Insight directly to your Hudl Sportscode Playlists.
- You can now open Insight directly from the timeline, using the menu item (File > Open Insight) or using the keyboard shortcut 'CMD' + 'OPTION' + 'i'.

What did we improve?

- Fixed an issue where the background image on HTML reports would be cut off on very large code windows.

What did we improve?
- An opened timeline is automatically closed if a user cancels the download.
- Added an icon to display when a fixture has tagging data attached.
- You can now make more adjustments to the clips you wish to edit within a sorter or organiser. When editing a clip, by releasing the drag bars, the edit bar will refresh.
- Changed the overlay text in the sorter to reflect the row number of each instance.
- In the sorter; when entering a cell containing labels the text cursor will default to the end of the cell.

- Fixed an issue with the drag rectangle in an organiser disappearing beneath the rows and instances.

What did we improve?
- Added a new preference item to the existing Rows preference to control whether instances merge or remain separate when manipulated in the timeline. This includes creating a new merged row or extending, duplicating or creating an instance.

- Fixed an issue where Synergy data wasn't being imported properly

Hudl Sportscode 12.3.5
What did we improve?
- You can now queue up multiple games in 'Open from Exchange' to download. If you're doing opposition research, or just need to download your last few games, simply select each game and it'll get added to your Progress Queue. And you'll still be able to start working on your first game download right away.
- When editing label, row name and flag columns in a sorter, tab+control can now be used to commit the change and move to the next clip with the field below ready for editing. Similarly, the Shift+Tab+Control hotkey can be used to move up to the previous cell.
- Added a new scripting command, Unique String, which can be used to return unique label names from a specified group.
- Updated the default Champion data import to include team name labels in player, Inside 50 and Rebound 50 rows
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue where the Columns button within Sorters and Databases wasn't working in Chinese (Simplified), Japanese or Korean.

- Fixed an issue where stopping HSC Capture without closing HSC would result in a black screen when switching angles

What did we improve?
- Instances from all machines are now sent to Replay when on a collaborative code scenario.
- Added a new floating toolbar to display the Original Video time when in Full screen mode which can be activated from the View menu item or keyboard shortcut (shift + command + O).
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue in Open From Exchange where duplicate league names couldn't be displayed in the league dropdown.
- Fixed an issue where using control + enter in notes fields to add an extra line could cause Hudl Sportscode to crash.
- Fixed an issue where the Register button did not display correctly, in certain scenarios.

What did we improve?
-Added text wrapping controls to a Sorter so that each row can now be displayed as either a single line or multiple lines where the row height will be automatically adjusted to display all cell contents based on the column width.
-In live scenarios, the row order on viewing machines will now be maintained if they have been manually configured.

-Fixed an issue in a sorter where the tab key would not progress to the next clip after editing the contents of a cell.

Hudl Sportscode 12.3.2
Charts in Code Windows
- Bar, Column, Stacked Bar, Stacked Column and Pie Charts can now be created in Code Windows using Elite and Elite Review licenses. What did we improve?
- Added the ability to create a new row and use option, click plus drag to copy instances between rows in the code view of a Database.
- When video is launched from an action button on a Database, instances are now sorted by transaction order, then start time.
- Added support to filter the fixtures by team when downloading via ‘Open from Exchange’.
- Added support to allow for re-editing of effects in Studio when a clip with Studio effects is copied to another playlist.
What did we fix?
-Fixed an issue that cause the playhead to jump to the beginning of the timeline while capturing, in certain scenarios.

Hudl Sportscode 12.3.1
What did we improve?
- Added the ability to edit a row name in a sorter.

What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue on macOS BigSur that caused the scroll bar to not begin from the top of the DB in sorter view.
- Fixed an issue on macOS BigSur that caused an extra text cursor to appear sometimes during text entry.
- Fixed an issue where a longer code names appeared truncated in Find window.
- Fixed an issue that caused an empty sorter to still show earlier linked video, in a certain scenario.

Hudl Sportscode 12.3.0
What did we improve?
- Code windows opened and edited in this version cannot be opened in previous app versions. It is recommended for users to be on the same 12.3.0 version and higher, to facilitate sharing.
- Added support to count all labels in instances within the Matrix.
- Added support to filter by season when using the ‘Open from Exchange’ integration in Sportscode.
- Improved workflow for timeline player during label mode, looping behavior is now maintained if playback speed is modified within the instance bounds.
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue where instances from a Sharing machine would sometimes not appear on the Viewing machine, under certain conditions.
- Included new data identifiers for Opta Football Import for 2021/22 season.

Hudl Sportscode 12.2.48
macOS Mojave
- This will be the last Hudl Sportscode update that supports macOS 10.14 Mojave. Mojave users will no longer be prompted to install Hudl Sportscode updates.
What did we improve?
- Added ability to select which video angle you want to download via ‘Open from Exchange’, so that you can access the video you need quicker and use less disk space on your computer.
- Added ‘Original Video Time’ on instance player (via timeline, matrix, find, code window), database and playlists to provide more context about when the moment occurred in the game. This value is also present in the playback floating controller in fullscreen mode.
- Added the ability to show or hide Instance Text when using the “Columns” button in the sorter, including a checkbox to show or hide all columns.
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue where Sportscode could crash when cancelling a download in ‘Open from Exchange’.
- Fixed an issue that prevented editing row names on a timeline, during a live capture session.
- Fixed an issue where Read-Only code windows were able to be edited.
Hudl Sportscode 12.2.47
Matrix
- A custom matrix can now be created using complex label queries and applied across different data sources. When a matrix is applied to any open timeline or database, the row names (codes) will be updated to reflect the new data source while labels remain unchanged. Custom label queries can now be created in a matrix using AND/OR/NOT operations.
Database
- To make databases equipped with latest framework changes, an upgrade has been carried out. Older versions of Sportscode will be prompted to upgrade when opening a database file that has been opened in this version.
What did we improve?
- Hudl Sportscode added support for SDP feeds in IP capture.
- When editing an instance note in a sorter, tab+control can now be used to commit the change and move to the next clip with the edit note field ready for editing. Similarly, the Shift+Tab+Control hotkey can be used to move to the previous instance note.
- Added support in sorter to show ellipses to identify when multiple labels are present in a cell.
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue that caused the play and edit mode icons on slides to not display correctly on MacOS Big Sur.
Hudl Sportscode 12.2.46
Sorter
- Added the ability to show or hide all columns when using the “Columns” button in the sorter.
- Improved adding instances to an existing sorter with hidden columns. Now when the new instances are added, any columns that have been manually hidden will remain hidden. Older versions of Sportscode will be prompted to upgrade when opening a Playlist that has been opened in this version.
What did we fix?
- Fixed an issue that caused the exported video from a certain arrangement of playlist clips and slide to result in 1080p resolution, rather than 720p.
- Fixed an issue where effects did not pause in playlists, if the effect was present at the beginning of the playlist.
Hudl Sportscode 12.2.45
Hudl League Exchange
You can now download video and data from Hudl League Exchange from within Sportscode. In Sportscode, go to File > Open from Exchanges, and log in with your Hudl account details to get started. Access to this feature depends on your Hudl subscription - contact your account manager for more information.

Video Exports
- A new video export user interface with additional controls has been introduced for video exports from the playlist, timeline and instance player. Users can now choose to export single or multiple angles from an entire playlist or timeline or a selection of clips or instances. Edit labels window
- Edit labels window can now be accessed via menu item ‘Edit -> Instance Labels’ or shortcut key, to view and edit labels on a selected instance in the timeline. See a tutorial here.
Flagging
- Flagging from the Find window on timelines is now supported. This includes the ability to flag to a playlist or add instances notes. This behaviour is also supported across multiple timelines where the timelines are not currently open.
Data Import
- DFL import is now supported in Hudl Sportscode. This import has also been improved to provide additional information that was not available in Version 11, watch here.

- Find window search results have been updated to also include timeline name.
- The default timeline in a package will now be created with the package name rather than "Timeline.
